Terms of service
Last updated October 5, 2026
By playing on Shift you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, so please do.
1. Your account
You need to be at least 13 (or the minimum age where you live) to create an account. One account per person. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it at any time from your profile.
2. Shifts
- Shifts are Shift's reward points. You win them in launch-week leaderboards and spend them on in-game items and in the store.
- Shifts have no cash value, can't be bought, sold or transferred between accounts, and aren't your property. Items bought with shifts aren't refundable.
- We can correct a balance after an error, and remove shifts won by cheating. Shifts on a deleted or banned account are lost.
3. Leaderboards and fair play
Each new Shift Original pays shifts to the top 5 of its launch week. Scores are checked automatically and the top results can be reviewed by hand before prizes are paid.
Don't cheat: no modified clients, bots, scripts, faked scores, exploiting bugs or multiple accounts. If we find it, we can remove scores, withhold or take back prizes, and close accounts.
4. The store
Store rewards (gift cards, game keys, subscriptions) are delivered by their providers and follow their terms. Availability and prices in shifts can change. A reward is final once delivered, unless it doesn't work, in which case contact us.
5. Ads
Shift is free and paid for by ads, shown on its pages and as short video breaks in some games. Some games offer an optional ad in exchange for an in-game bonus (like an extra life); watching ads never earns shifts. Blocking ads may stop those bonuses from working. See the privacy policy for how ads use data.
6. Games from other studios
Many games on Shift are provided by GamePix and run from their servers. They don't pay shifts, may show their own ads, and follow their own terms.
7. Behaviour
Usernames and anything else you share must not be offensive, impersonate anyone or break the law. Don't attack, overload or try to get around the security of Shift or its games.
8. Our part
We work to keep Shift running, but it's provided as is: games can change or be removed, and the service can be interrupted. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for lost shifts, items or progress. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes; continuing to play means you accept them. Questions: hello@playshift.games.
