About Shift

Shift is a free website for playing games in your browser, with nothing to download. It mixes our own games, the Shift Originals, with thousands of games from other studios, many of which also run on phones.

We build and launch a new Shift Original every week. Its first week is its prize week: the top 5 on its leaderboard split 6,000 shifts, paid after the week closes on Monday at 00:00 UTC. After that, the game stays on Shift with an all-time leaderboard.

Shifts are Shift's reward points. You win them on leaderboards, and soon you'll spend them in the store and on items inside our games. They have no cash value and can't be bought. See the FAQ for the details.

Most of the catalogue comes from GamePix, a games distributor. Those games are free to play and rank players by time played, but they don't pay shifts.

Ads pay for Shift: on its pages, and as short breaks inside some games. Watching ads never earns shifts. The privacy policy explains how ads use data, and the terms set the rules, including fair play.
